Lindsay Hattingh

Physiotherapist

I began my career at the University of Cape Town, where I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Physiotherapy in 2000. I then went on to locum at practices at Contantiaberg and Kingsbury Hospitals before starting to work full time at a private practice in Constantia, while still spending weekends working at the hospitals.

My hospital work gave me a good grounding in post-operative rehabilitation and chest physiotherapy and the private practice allowed me to gain experience with spinal and joint injuries, sports injuries, sinusitis and headaches. I took all this experience and opened my own physiotherapy practice in December 2004.

In 2008, I decided to do a yearlong Diploma course in Orthopedic Manipulative Therapy, a level 2 accreditation which focuses on the assessment and management of neuro-musculoskeletal disorders. In 2010. I moved my practice to its new location so that it would be more accessible to my patients.

I love sports and have dabbled in many, from surfing to mountain biking, running, rock climbing, scuba diving and even a little surf skiing. I refer to myself as a ‘gentle’ adrenalin junkie as I have tried a wide variety of extreme sports. I also enjoy the chilled side of life, picnicking with a good glass of wine or curled up in front of a fire with a good book. I love music and will occasionally play the piano if I have the energy after a busy day.
